Build a series of scheduled messages that keep your job top of mind until a candidate responds. 7 steps5 min read In this guide [Create a sequence](https://help.scalis.ai/creating-email-sequences#create-a-sequence) [Add candidates to a sequence](https://help.scalis.ai/creating-email-sequences#add-candidates-to-a-sequence) [Review sequence enrollments](https://help.scalis.ai/creating-email-sequences#review-sequence-enrollments)   Create a sequence   1 Step 1 Start Your Sequence   Navigate to **CRM** \> **Sequences**.   Select **Create Sequence**.   Enter a **Subject** line for your first email.   Insert your **Message**. 💡 **Note:** Use dynamic tokens to personalize each email with candidate details, your company information, and your signature. ![Sequences dashboard with the Create Sequence button highlighted.](https://help.scalis.ai/hubfs/Knowledge%20Base%20Guides/Sequences/1-create%20sequence.jpg) The Sequences dashboard with Create Sequence selected. ![Subject and message fields for a sequence step.](https://help.scalis.ai/hubfs/Knowledge%20Base%20Guides/Sequences/2-add%20details.jpg) Entering the subject and message for the first email.   2 Step 2 Add Another Step   Select **Add Step** to build the next email in your sequence.   Set the **Schedule** for the new step in minutes, hours, or days from the previous step. 💡 **Note:** We recommend adding at least three steps to your email sequence. ![A second step added to a sequence with a schedule offset.](https://help.scalis.ai/hubfs/Knowledge%20Base%20Guides/Sequences/3-add%20next%20message.jpg) Adding a second step and setting its schedule from the previous step.   3 Step 3 Preview and Test Your Emails   Once you have reviewed the emails in your sequence, select **Preview** to see how they will look.   Select **Send Test Email** to send a copy to yourself and confirm the formatting. ![The Preview and Send Test Email buttons on a sequence step.](https://help.scalis.ai/hubfs/Knowledge%20Base%20Guides/Sequences/4-preview%20emails.jpg) Previewing a sequence email before sending a test. 4 Step 4 Set Your Sequence Details   After confirming the steps in your sequence, select **Next**.   Set the following details:   **Sequence Owner**   **Sequence Schedule**   **Associated Jobs**   **Associated Talent Pools**   Who the sequence is **visible to**   Choose whether to include an **unsubscribe link** so recipients can opt out of future messages. 💡 **Note:** Your sequence schedule defines the days and hours your sequence is allowed to send. Add candidates to a sequence   5 Step 5 Select Your Candidates   Navigate to your candidates from any of the following:   A **Talent Pool**   A **Job Dashboard**   **AI Sourcing**   Select the **three dots** next to a candidate's profile.   Select **Add to Sequence**. 💡 **Note:** You can do this in bulk by selecting multiple candidates before adding them to a sequence. ![A candidate profile with the three dots menu open, showing the Add to Sequence option.](https://help.scalis.ai/hubfs/Knowledge%20Base%20Guides/Sequences/6-select%20candidates.jpg) Selecting the three dots next to a candidate profile to add them to a sequence. 6 Step 6 Add to an Existing Sequence   Select **Add to Existing Sequence**.   Select the sequence you created.   Select **Add to Sequence**. 💡 **Note:** If a candidate came from the CRM and their data has not yet been enriched, you will be prompted to enrich their data before they can be added to the sequence. ![The Add to Existing Sequence selection screen with a sequence chosen.](https://help.scalis.ai/hubfs/Knowledge%20Base%20Guides/Sequences/7-select%20sequence.jpg) Choosing an existing sequence to add the candidate to. Review sequence enrollments ✓ Final Step View Enrollments and Engagement   Navigate to your sequence and select it to open it.   Select **Enrollments** to view everyone you have added to the sequence.   Review email engagement here, including whether a candidate has viewed or replied to an email. 💡 **Note:** Once a candidate replies to an email, they are automatically removed from the sequence.
