1
Step 1
Open Roles & Permissions
Select Settings > User Management > Roles & Permissions > Create Role.
💡 Note: Admin access is required to manage roles and permissions. (Confirm exact permission required to access this area.)

2
Step 2
Name the role and set its permission level
Enter a Role Title.
Set the Permission Level to Org or Job.

3
Step 3
Choose a starting point
Build the role from the ground up, or base it on a role that already has similar permissions.
Select an existing role to copy its permissions as a starting point, or select Build from scratch to begin with no permissions selected.
💡 Note: SCALIS recommends starting from an existing role and making incremental adjustments rather than building a new role from the ground up. This approach is faster and reduces the risk of omitting a required permission.

Step 4
Configure permissions by module
Use the checkbox or toggle list to enable or disable permissions for each module.
Review every module the role requires access to before proceeding.

✓
Final Step
Save the role and add permissions
Select Save to create the role.
To assign the role to a user, select Settings > User Management > Manage Users, then select the user and assign the new role.

Frequently Asked Questions
What's the difference between an Org-level and a Job-level role?
Org-level permissions control high-impact, organization-wide actions such as managing company settings, users, roles, and integrations. Job-level permissions define actions scoped to individual jobs, such as viewing candidates, updating stages, leaving feedback, and managing scorecards.
Can I edit a role after creating it?
Yes. Return to Settings, User Management, Roles & Permissions, and select the role to update its permissions at any time.
